Quarterly Development Tracking Report

The Quarterly Development Tracking Report summarizes residential and commercial development activity and trends in Arlington. Information in these reports is generated from County staff reports, County Board minutes and data on Certificate of Occupancy (CO) permits, building permits and demolition permits.

Highlights from this quarter’s report: 

  • The County Board approved the Leckey Gardens and Inn of Rosslyn projects totaling 390 new residential units.

  • Crystal Houses 3, Red Lion Inn, Ballston Macy's site, and 3601 Wilson Blvd Adaptive Reuse projects started construction and include a total of 1,525 residential units and 48,052 SF of retail.

  • The Comfort Inn Pentagon City and Hotel Pentagon were issued demolition permits. The B.M. Smith Building at 2300 9th St S was also issued a demolition permit which will remove 65,820 SF of office space.

  • Six (6) Expanded Housing Option (EHO) projects were approved totaling 22 units. One (1) EHO project was completed with six (6) units.
