Quarterly Development Tracking Report

The Quarterly Development Tracking Report summarizes residential and commercial development activity and trends in Arlington. Information in these reports is generated from County staff reports, County Board minutes and data on Certificate of Occupancy (CO) permits, building permits and demolitions permits.

Highlights from this quarter’s report:

  • The County Board approved the future construction of 54,243 SF of retail space and 1,042 residential units apart of three projects in the Rosslyn-Ballston and Columbia Pike Corridors: Marbella Apartments Phases I and II, Wendy's Site, and The Elliott.

  • A use conversion approved administratively at 1500 Arlington Boulevard, previously Virginian Suites Hotel, and the completion of 10 townhomes at 3036 20th St S added 271 residential units to the County.

  • Construction commenced above grade at four projects within the three Planning Corridors, adding 1,870 multi-family units to the County.

  • Office and retail space was demolished for future approved development of 247 residential units at Clarendon West (West Block) and 22,059 SF of retail space and 758 residential units at Crystal Plaza 1.
