2010 Census Outreach Efforts

Arlington’s census outreach campaign successfully increased both the total number of households participating in the census and participation rates in hard-to-count communities. “Arlington, Let’s Get Counted!” was used as a regional model by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The census staff report explores the social and face-to-face components of the campaign, as well as outreach efforts of the Complete Count Committee and County staff. The video slideshow documents census outreach activities including a housing fair, canvassing the Buckingham neighborhood, the St. Patrick’s Day parade, and “Arlington Counts!” — an employment and services showcase held at Ballston mall.
