1501 Arlington Blvd. – Red Lion Inn

Location

The site is located on the north side of Arlington Boulevard (Route 50) along Fairfax Drive, east of its intersection with North Pierce Street, and comprises approximately 96,779 square feet. The site includes the existing 141-room Red Lion Hotel, which was originally constructed in the 1950s and substantially renovated and expanded in the 1980s; the currently vacant Ellis Arms Apartments; and the Williamsburg Apartments at the corner of Fairfax Drive and North Pierce Street. Both existing apartment buildings were constructed circa 1954. Excluding the Williamsburg Apartments, the remainder of the site is subject to an approved but unbuilt site plan amendment from 2019 (SP #233 – “Best Western Site”) for a new hotel and multifamily residential building. This application, if approved, would supersede the previous 2019 site plan amendment., Arlington, VA 22209  View Map
