The Arlington County Sheriff’s Office is proud to host the Frederick Douglass Project for Justice, which provides members of the public with a tour of the detention facility and an opportunity to visit with residents of the Arlington County Detention Facility for thoughtful, guided discussions. Beginning July 1, 2026, portable electronic devices such as cell phones, computers, tablets, smart watches, and e-readers will be permitted inside the Arlington County Courthouse. While devices may be carried and used in common areas, photography, recording, livestreaming, video calls, and courtroom use remain prohibited unless authorized. Portable Electronic Devices must remain silent and be put away at all times. Any Portable Electronic Device used in violation of this Order may be confiscated and shall be returned as directed by either the presiding judge or the Sheriff in their sole discretion. K9 Unit

Enhances security, safety and operational effectiveness within the correctional facility. K9 units, consisting of specially trained dogs and their handlers, are deployed to perform various tasks and functions.
