🚨Announcement: Beginning July 1, 2026, portable electronic devices such as cell phones, computers, tablets, smart watches, and e-readers will be permitted inside the Arlington County Courthouse. While devices may be carried and used in common areas, photography, recording, livestreaming, video calls, and courtroom use remain prohibited unless authorized. Portable Electronic Devices must remain silent and be put away at all times. Any Portable Electronic Device used in violation of this Order may be confiscated and shall be returned as directed by either the presiding judge or the Sheriff in their sole discretion. The Arlington County Judicial Services Division is comprised of three distinct sections:

  • Civil Process/Warrants
  • Court Security
  • Transportation

Civil Process / Warrants Section

The purpose of the Civil Process /Warrant Service Section is to provide timely notice to a person or legal entity of pending legal action which they are involved. The notice may be in the form of a variety of legal documents, like a subpoena, and must be served as defined by the Virginia Code.

Court Security Section

The Court Security Section is charged with providing courthouse and courtroom security for the entire Arlington County Courthouse.

Transportation Section

The Transportation section is responsible for transporting in-custody residents via passenger vehicles or vans to a variety of destinations such as medical appointments, prisons, jails, and other courts.
