Sports Commission

The Commission ensures that Arlington has high-quality sports activities, facilities, and policies. It serves as a conduit for information about sports and physical fitness programs among community organizations, agencies of the County government and the Board.

Field Fund Working Group:  The Sports Commission has formed a small working group to examine field user fees. You can follow the process here.

PROMISE Working Group:  The Sports Commission has formed a working group to better understand the prevalence of racist and hateful conditions in Arlington sports and support youth sports leagues’ efforts to protect their participants from such conditions.  You can view more information here.

Communications Working Group:  The Sports Commission has formed a working group to seek and identify ways to communicate about sports in Arlington, with the overarching goal of improving the community’s understanding and appreciation of the role of sports in Arlington and the needs of the community members who play them.  You can view more information here.

Meeting Schedule: Unless otherwise noted, the Sports Commission meets on the 4th Thursday of the month at 7 p.m.  Meetings are held at Lubber Run Community Center.
