Virtual Community Meeting: S. Dinwiddie St at 22nd St S. NCS Project

Join Arlington County transportation staff from the Neighborhood Complete Streets program to learn more about a proposed new project at the intersection of South Dinwiddie Street and 22nd Street South. NCS projects are identified by community members and submitted to the county for review using Board-adopted criteria. The highest-scoring projects each year are considered for implementation.

The goal of this project is to build on the changes undertaken by the Vision Zero program to lower speeds to 20mph in the adjacent School Slow Zone, and the installation of tactical speed humps installed near Wakefield High School, and make the intersection of Dinwiddie and 22nd St S more comfortable, accessible and safe for travelers of all modes.

The project page has information about how this project came to be, the NCS process and timeline. Ultimately the project will be considered at a public Funding Hearing of the Neighborhood Complete Streets Commission, and if recommended, the Arlington County Board.

At this meeting you can:

  • Learn more about the NCS program and how projects are identified and advanced
  • See the proposed improvements in the concept design
  • Share your feedback about how these changes would affect your experience at the intersection while travelling

How to participate:

If you are unable to attend the event, meeting materials and a recording will be available on the project page, along with any meeting slides and a transcript of the Q&A. Input received will help staff develop concept plans for the corridor.

Additionally, an online feedback form is open now through April 27, 2025 to gather your input.
