Located in south Arlington at the Arlington County Trades Center, the Earth Products Yard is managed by the Solid Waste Bureau of the Department of Environmental Services.

Scrap metal drop off is intended for smaller scrap metal items that are less than 50 pounds in weight and don’t need to be collected curbside with the large crane truck. Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, trash compactors, air conditioners, water heaters can also be dropped off with a recycling fee applied.

• Only small quantities of material will be accepted per resident once per month (one pickup truck load, or up to 3 cubic yards).
• Contractors and non-residents aren’t allowed to drop off material and should contact their private hauler for disposal options.
• Trash and building construction material such as drywall, shingles, insulation will not be accepted.
• Inert material will be reprocessed and reused in County construction projects; appliances and scrap metal will be recycled. 
• Fill dirt, with a maximum of approximately the amount that fits in the bed of a pickup truck, is available for taking at the Earth Products Yard.
