Break Camps & Trips

Need something fun and engaging for the kids to do on ‘no school’ days while you’re at work?  Check out our program offerings for holiday breaks or during Arlington Public School Teacher Workdays and/or Parent-Teacher Conference Days.  This combination of full day programs, early release options, and even weekend trips is sure to find something for everyone! 

Arlington County is committed to all of its residents.  Families that qualify for fee reductions or campers who may benefit from inclusion support services can learn more at the links below.  These services are applicable to all of our break camp offerings, please inquire separately regarding trip programs.

It's an APS conference day which means fun at camp! Enjoy a variety of activities including active play & games, dynamic play, and creative arts during the day! Participants must bring a lunch and snack to have at camp. Children must be in grades K-5.

Tiny Chefs: Cupcake Wars

Description:

Superheroes have to eat too, and our Tiny Chefs are going to figure out and make their favorite character’s meals! Using guesswork, comic book and movie references and of course, we will create items such as Apple Pie, French Onion Soup and Whole Wheat Pancakes. Can you guess which superheroes like those foods best? After our chefs have spent the day creating a heroic menu, they will close out the session by designing their own superhero and deciding what their favorite food will be. Come join us for some superhero culinary adventures!

In Chess Camp, campers play and learn chess with Magnus Academy! We've taught 100,000 children including national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn and have fun! Campers are broken up in groups by skill level. Activities include learning the rules, openings, tactics, endgames, studying master games, and playing lots of games against other students. Campers will take breaks for snacks and fresh air, and have lunch and recess from 12:00 – 1:00. All equipment provided.

Description:

Learn Now Music introduces campers to a variety of musical instruments and concepts including piano, guitar, violin, drums, voice and movement. Campers participate in musical games, crafts, musical listening excerpts, related projects and MORE!!! FREE instrument rentals are provided to borrow for in camp use and at-home exploration (rental agreement must be signed). (Instruments in AM session piano, drum; PM session guitar and violin)

Campers in both morning and afternoon sessions will be supervised during a lunch break. All campers should bring a snack and drink daily; full-day campers should also bring a bag lunch.; AM Extended Hours 8-9am, PM Extended Hours 5-6pm
