Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Update – Nov. 7, 2025:
The USDA has authorized states to issue full SNAP benefits for November. This means regular SNAP benefits will resume the week of Nov. 10, 2025. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) expects to issue full SNAP benefits to recipients on Nov. 11 or Nov. 12. Any VENA funds already on your EBT card will remain available for up to 90 days. No additional VENA funds will be issued next week. For details on VENA, visit DSS.Virginia.gov/VENA.
Arlington County has approved emergency funding to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). AFAC will expand its food distribution capacity to help meet increased community need. For food assistance now, call 703-228-1300 or visit DHS/Food-Assistance.
Arlington County continues to monitor this situation and impacts caused by the federal government shutdown and will provide updates as they become available. A continued federal shutdown may also impact other federally funded public assistance programs.
