The Fatherhood Engagement Program aims to improve child and family wellbeing by empowering fathers to be active, informed and engaged with their children, strengthening father-child bonds, and increasing paternal involvement with children and families.

The Fatherhood Engagement Program aims to assist fathers by:

  • Providing psychoeducation and resource support directly to fathers to improve their parenting skills.
  • Reaching out to teen fathers/adolescent males in the community to educate them about healthy relationships and effective parenting.
  • Promoting knowledge of legal rights as a father/parent.
  • Understanding healthy child development.
  • Establishing trust within the community regarding fathers/males as caregivers.
  • Strengthening the protective capacity of fathers and male caregivers.
  • Ensuring equitable service delivery for fathers.
  • Assisting with visitation with children.
  • Supporting fathers during Family Planning Meetings and court appearances.
  • Visiting incarcerated fathers.
  • Connecting fathers to services.
  • Collecting data (gaps/trends) aimed at improving services for fathers.
  • Connecting with fathers in their community.
