About the Housing Commission

  1. Study housing needs — i.e., sponsor need hearings;
  2. Review housing funding proposals:
    • “Bricks and mortar” Affordable Housing Investment Fund (AHIF) applications,
    • Federal HOME funds, and
    • AHIF housing service proposals;
  3. Explore housing options — i.e., home ownership;
  4. Analyze potential incentives for private developers to provide affordable housing — i.e., flexible density bonus; and
  5. Participate in development of the Consolidated Plan to guide county-wide housing, homelessness, and community development strategies.
