Proposed Charter on Form of Government Advisory Panel

Submit Feedback on the Draft Proposed Charter
Before Monday, Dec 1, 2025

Background
At the November 15, 2025 Regular County Board Meeting, the Arlington County Board shared a draft proposed charter to create an Advisory Panel that will example Arlington County's current form of government. As proposed, the Advisory Panel’s goal is to determine whether the current form of government is compatible with a growing and evolving community, and to provide the County Board with community-informed recommendations. The Board also heard public testimony from members of the community on the proposal.

Next Steps
After the November 15 meeting, the Board voted to continue the public hearing, public testimony, and discussion of this proposal to the December 2025 County Board Meeting. While the public can submit feedback at any time leading up to the Board meeting, to ensure that feedback is received with enough time to consider for incorporation into a revised charter, the Board Office is asking that residents submit their feedback by Dec. 1, a Monday, at noon via this feedback form

The Board Office will review feedback and make revisions as necessary to the proposed draft. Members of the public will have the opportunity to testify on this draft at the December 2025 meeting. Further details will be provided closer to this Board meeting.
