Ways of Seeing Time
January 17 – May 2024
Ways of Seeing Time displays work created by artist and scientist Kristen Orr. What started as an attempt to heal from her recent heartbreak became a collection of positive ideas about time. With the thought that these ideas might help others dealing with existential dread, Kristen assembled her favorite ways of seeing time into a zine (a small art booklet) that she made copies of and shared with many people. The work on view in Gallery 3700 recreates select pages from this zine at a large scale using cut vinyl text and gouache paintings on watercolor paper.
WE PAUSED! Unbound
June 2022 - May 2023
A year long exhibit in response to a project WE PAUSED! A Handmade Book by Studio PAUSE for Gates of Ballston, which chronicles a year of COVID 19 epidemic through the eye of participating artists. The book has been turned into an art exhibit with four thematic installations. The exhibit is sponsored by Arlington Arts.
Places In Paper
September 9 – December 17, 2019
“Places in Paper” an exhibit by the Guild of American Papercutters (GAP). The show featured the work of thirty-four artists from seventeen states and Lithuania who all use cut paper in their artwork. Visitors saw an astounding variety of papercutting, including Polish, Jewish, Indonesian, and Chinese styles, as well as photorealist, sculptural, and silhouette techniques.

A signature program of Arlington Department of Human Services and implemented by ServiceSource, Arlington Weaves, Etc. is an established Made in Arlington vendor. Arlington Weaves, Etc. provides support to adults with developmental disabilities by teaching them technical and social skills and by helping to improve their self-sufficiency. Participants in this unique program produce sophisticated hand-woven items ranging from traditional fine art to yoga mat strap, tea towels and event weekend tote bags.
