From November 10^th to January 17^th, we are looking for poems of 10 lines or less that will be displayed inside ART buses between March and September 2024. This year's competition will be judged by Arlington Poet Laureate Courtney LeBlanc!

Seven poems will be selected to be printed on colorful placards and displayed prominently on area buses, enlivening the ride for thousands of commuters. Each winner will also receive a $250 honorarium. Poets who live within the D.C. Metro transit area and are over 18 years old are eligible to enter. There is no fee to enter.

"Words for the World: An Anthology of Arlington Young Poets" responds to a world struck by pandemic tragedy, inequality, and mental health crisis. Edited by Arlington County Poet Laureate Holly Karapetkova, youth laureates Amasa Maleski and Kashvi Ramani, and youth ambassador Liam Mason, the book encourages readers to believe in the future of our community.

Arlington County Names Courtney LeBlanc New Poet Laureate

Courtney LeBlanc has been selected as the third Poet Laureate of Arlington County. During her two-year appointment, the award-winning poet will serve as an advocate for poetry and the literary arts.
