The Commissioner of Revenue assesses and administers business taxes for businesses operating in Arlington County.
Businesses operating in or from Arlington County must register and obtain a business license within 75 days of starting operations.
After registering, businesses must file an annual Business License by 11:59 p.m. ET on March 1 (or the next business day).
Returns can be filed using the Customer Assessment and Payment Portal (CAPP). Failure to register or file may result in penalties, interest, or audit action.

To consider a return timely, returns must be postmarked by USPS by the due date. Metered postmarks, such as Pitney Bowes and Hasler, are not accepted as proof of mailing. Returns sent via UPS or FedEx must be received by the carrier by the due date.
