REPORTS

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2026-06030010, 1800 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 2:31 a.m. on June 3, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim and female victim were entering the business when the male suspect allegedly threw food items at the female victim. The victims and suspect briefly left the scene before returning in their vehicles. When the male victim exited his vehicle, the male suspect, who was then sitting outside the business, demanded his cellphone. A verbal dispute ensued and the victims went inside the store while the suspect caused property damage to the victims' vehicle before fleeing the scene in his vehicle. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast and an officer located the suspect vehicle in the area of Fairfax Drive and N. Pierce Street and conducted a vehicle stop. The suspect was then taken into custody. Miguel Lopez Lemuz, 18, Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery, Assault and Battery and Destruction of Property. He was held without bond.

RECKLESS HANDLING OF A FIREARM, 2026-06020201, 1100 block of S. Highland Street. At approximately 9:25 p.m. on June 2, police were dispatched to the report of a shot fired. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect was allegedly cleaning his firearm inside a residence when the weapon discharged, causing damage to the interior of the home and an occupied neighboring unit. No injuries or other property damage were located. Responding officers took the suspect into custody on scene and a firearm was recovered. Jason Bailey, 46, of Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with Reckless Handling of a Firearm and Missile Into an Occupied Dwelling.

ASSAULT BY MOB, 2026-06020176, S. Four Mile Run Drive at S. Monroe Street. At approximately 6:37 p.m. on June 2, police were dispatched to the report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was driving his vehicle in the area when he became involved in a verbal dispute with the two male suspects, who were walking in the area. The victim subsequently exited his vehicle and a physical altercation ensued during which the suspects assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated and released on scene by medics. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
