REPORTS
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2026-07200038, 2500 block of 9th Road S. At approximately 8:24 a.m. on July 20, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, collected merchandise in a shopping cart and allegedly walked towards the exit of the store without payment. The suspect was confronted by an employee and a struggle ensued for the merchandise. Ultimately, the suspect fled the scene on foot, leaving all of the merchandise behind. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and taken into custody, where he was first transported to an area hospital for evaluation. Once cleared, Charles Adams Jr., 71, of Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery.
