REPORTS
MALICIOUS WOUNDING/ROBBERY, 2026-01230236, 200 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 11:29 p.m. on January 23, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect allegedly entered the business, concealed merchandise and attempted to exit without payment when he was confronted by an employee. The suspect then struck the employee, causing them to fall to the ground. The employee sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and on January 24, he was located in the 300 block of N. Piedmont Street and was taken into custody. Burchell Peters, 34, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged Malicious Wounding and Robbery. He was held without bond.
ROBBERY, 2026-01250031, 1300 block of N. Courthouse Road. At approximately 7:34 a.m. on January 25, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the female suspect, who was banned from the property during a separate incident, allegedly entered the business, consumed food items without payment and threatened employees with a baseball bat before fleeing the scene on foot. Responding officers located the suspect in the area and took her into custody. Tanisha Demby, 38, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Robbery and Trespassing. She was held without bond.
