REPORTS
ASSAULT BY MOB, 2026-01210212, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 6:52 p.m. on January 21, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was determined the juvenile female victim was inside a business when the juvenile female suspect, who is known to her, allegedly approached and made threatening statements towards her before assaulting her. Additional juveniles in the area then also began assaulting the victim. The assault briefly broke up before the group continued the assault and subsequently dispersed upon police arrival. The suspect attempted to flee the scene and following a foot pursuit, she was taken into custody inside the Pentagon City Metro Station. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated and released by medics on scene. Petitions for the juvenile suspect were sought for Assault by Mob and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2026-01210231, 1600 block of S. Glebe Road. At approximately 8:34 p.m. on January 21, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined Suspect One and Two entered the business during which Suspect One allegedly collected merchandise before both suspects exited the store without payment. An employee confronted the suspects outside the business and Suspect Two threatened them with a screwdriver before both suspects fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers located them and took them into custody in the area of Columbia Pike and S. Glebe Road. Suspect One, a juvenile in his late teens, was arrested and petitions were obtained for Shoplifting and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny. Benjamin Hale, 18, of Alexandria, Va. was arrested and charged with Robbery. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY (late), 2026-01210043, 2400 block of N. Taylor Street. At approximately 7:38 a.m. on January 21, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. It was determined at approximately 3:47 a.m., the male suspect made entry into the female victim’s vehicle inside her garage, rummaged through the interior and stole clothing, personal identification and credit cards and household items before fleeing the scene. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a black hoodie and sweatpants. The investigation is ongoing.
