REPORTS

ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2025-07210179, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 5:28 p.m. on July 21, an officer inside the Pentagon City Metro Station stopped the male suspect for fare evasion. The suspect began to act disorderly, ignore the officer’s commands and struck the officer. With the assistance of additional officers in the area, the suspect was taken into custody. No injuries were reported. During the course of the investigation, fake identification cards and credit cards with names not belonging to the suspect were recovered. The suspect was evaluated by medics at the scene. Once cleared, Vincent Persinger, 35, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with Assault on Police, Credit Card Theft, Obstruction of Justice, Possession of Fake Identification (x2) and Fare Evasion. He was held without bond.
