REPORTS
CARJACKING, 2023-04070196, 2400 block of Richmond Highway. At approximately 8:50 p.m. on April 7, police were dispatched to the report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined the two male victims were entering their parked vehicle when the suspect vehicle approached, two suspects exited, brandished firearms and demanded the keys to the vehicle. The victims ran from the vehicle and the suspects chased them, knocked them to the ground and took the vehicle’s keys. The suspect vehicle, a gray sedan, fled the scene followed by the suspects driving the stolen vehicle. During the course of the investigation, officers contacted the Metropolitan Police Department and provided information related to the investigation. The stolen vehicle was later recovered in Washington, D.C. and two male suspects were taken into custody by the Metropolitan Police Department. Warrants were obtained for Carjacking, Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony for Isaac Anderson, 18, of an unknown location and Dakarai Walker, 20, of Washington D.C. Both are being held in Washington D.C.
WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2023-04080213, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 7:45 p.m. on April 8, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Initial information provided to dispatch indicated five juvenile suspects allegedly stole the victim’s coat and fled the scene. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers located two juveniles in the Metro and detained them without incident. An airsoft gun was located on one of the juveniles. He was taken into custody and a petition for Carrying an Air Gun in Public was obtained. The victim of the alleged robbery did not remain on scene and the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2023-04090178, 1500 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 9:39 p.m. on April 9, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, a lookout was broadcast and responding officers established a perimeter, during which they observed the suspect exit the residential building and being walking away from them. Officers gave the suspect commands and attempted to take him into custody, during which he actively resisted arrest. He was subsequently detained without further incident. The investigation determined the reporting party observed the suspect allegedly gain entry into a vacant apartment unit. During a search of his person incident to arrest, officers recovered burglarious tools. Malik Gillispie, 27, of Germantown. Md., was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry, Possession of Burglarious Tools, and Obstruction of Justice.
ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2023-04090101, 2700 block of S. Glebe Road. At approximately 11:39 a.m. on April 9, police were dispatched to the report of public intoxication. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim and suspect became involved in a verbal dispute during which the suspect allegedly drove his vehicle into the victim’s vehicle, causing damage. Responding officers located the suspect on scene and took him into custody without incident. No injuries were reported. Justin Johnson, 42, of Round Rock, Tx, was arrested and charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding and Destruction of Property. He was held on a secured bond.
BRANDISHING, 2023-04080176, 4000 block of 5th Road N. At approximately 4:25 p.m. on April 8, police were dispatched to the report of a brandishing. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect became involved in a verbal dispute with an employee inside a business. The suspect then left but returned outside the business a short time later with a firearm and allegedly made threatening statements towards the employee. The suspect left the area in a vehicle prior to the arrival of police. No injuries were reported. A warrant for Brandishing was obtained for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
PEEPING, 2023-04080075, 2200 block of Arlington Boulevard. At approximately 5:45 a.m. on April 8, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was asleep when she awoke and observed the unknown male suspect outside the window looking into her room. The suspect then fled the area prior to the arrival of police. The suspect is described as a tall Black male with a skinny build, wearing a dark hoodie and dark face mask. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2023-04070224, 900 block of N. Lincoln Street. At approximately 10:35 p.m. on April 7, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was walking in the area when he was approached by the male and female suspects who asked for directions. Shortly after, the male suspect brandished a knife and stole the victim’s wallet containing an undisclosed amount of cash. The female suspect then struck the victim with her hand and the two suspects fled the scene on foot. The victim did not require medical treatment. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers conducted a search of the area for the suspects yielding negative results, during which the victim’s wallet was recovered. Suspect One is described as a Black male with a slim build, approximately 5’8”-5’10”, wearing dark colored jacket. Suspect Two is described as a Black female with a slim build, approximately 5’5”-5’7”, wearing all dark clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2023-04100018, 1300 block of N. Veitch Street. At approximately 2:24 a.m. on April 10, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was in the apartment when he observed the unknown suspect open the door and attempt to take a bag. The victim verbally confronted the suspect during which the suspect fled the scene on foot. Officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. No items were reported stolen. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing dark clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING (late), 2023-04070147, 1100 block of Army Navy Drive. At approximately 4:36 p.m. on April 7, police were dispatched to the report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined an employee was inside a vacant apartment when she observed a shattered window and located a spent round from a firearm on the floor. Responding officers recovered the evidence and canvassed the area with negative results. No other items were reported damaged. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
