The Slater Park improvements funding was approved by the County Board March 2025. Following Board approval, the project will continue to undertake the ANP process for park improvements commencing with site research followed by design development.

About the Project

Slater Park improvements to renovate and replace the existing (original) 27-year old tot lot playground with new equipment, site furnishings, access/circulation and improved grassy areas. All improvements will meet current regulatory and design standards and include enhanced landscaping and required stormwater management.

Project Goals:

Renovate and bring to code the existing playground.
Replace existing furnishings and amenities.
Park improvements to meet current design and regulatory standards.
Provide stormwater management.
Enhance existing site amenities within greater Slater Park.

Project Background

ANP first priority request from the JMLCA to provide improvements to the existing tot lot playground and extended park amenities.

Project Scoping CA Meeting and Approval: The JLMCA CA approval of the proposed scope of work during the Oct. 23, 2024 CA meeting.
ArNAC Qualified Approval: The proposed project scope was presented at the Nov. 14, 2024 ArNAC fall funding round meeting as a qualified project to present to the County Board.
