About the Project

Project Goals:

  • Construction of a new playground and picnic structure.
  • New site circulation and playground accessibility improvements.
  • Improvement to drainage and stormwater management.
  • New playground site furnishings.
  • New playground landscaping.

Project Background

The playground at Arlington Hall West Park has reached the end of its useful life. This Parks Maintenance Capital project will include demolition, site work, design and construction. This project will consist of the replacement of the playground in Arlington Hall West Park. The new playground will serve pre-school children (ages 2-5) and offer components for school-age children (ages 5-12), which the previous one did not. The project will also improve playground accessibility and update furnishings. No new amenities are planned for this project, which is funded by the Capital Improvement Plan. This is one of the older playgrounds in the County and replacement parts are no longer available from the playground manufacturer.
