The Stormwater Utility billing unit, or Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU), is 2,400 square feet of impervious area (IA). This is the median IA on Arlington County residential parcels.

In April 2026, the County Board adopted the Calendar Year (CY) 2026 Stormwater Utility rate at $268 per ERU. Your Stormwater Utility fee is calculated by the number of ERUs on your property multiplied by the Stormwater Utility rate. Note that the utility fee is based on a cost recovery model, so it is dependent upon the adopted budget each year.

Step 2: Type in your property address or Real Property Code (RPC) and click "Search".

Step 3: Click "View".

Step 4: On the lefthand side of the webpage, click "Stormwater Information" to see the status of any Stormwater Utility credits you may have, including mandatory credits.
