Annual Recycling System Compliance Inspection 

Arlington County conducts annual recycling inspections for all commercial and multi-family dwellings. This inspection is done for a few reasons:

1. To work cooperatively to ensure all Code requirements are followed;
2. To inform and educate;
3. To gather data and improve the accuracy of Arlington County’s Annual Recycling Rate.

It is important to fill out the required Trash & Recycling Plan with the County, as it contributes to a smooth and efficient inspection.

Preparing for Your Inspection

A recycling inspection consists of an Arlington County Recycling Outreach Specialist visiting your property once a year and assessing all aspects of your recycling system. We are currently developing a schedule and, at this time, appointments cannot be requested. However you can let us know your preferred inspection time when you fill out your recycling plan.
