Spring 2026 E-CARE
The spring 2026 Environmental Collection and Recycling (E-CARE) event is happening Saturday, March 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, at Wakefield High School (1325 S. Dinwiddie St.) This free, biannual event allows Arlington residents to safely dispose of household hazardous materials (HHMs) and old electronics. Small metal items will also be accepted.
NOTE: Bicycles/bike parts and Halloween costume donations will not be accepted at Spring 2026 E-CARE due to lack of space. Please visit Bikes for the World for information about bike donations.
Find a list of accepted and unaccepted materials as you prepare for E-CARE. Note: Business and commercial wastes will not be accepted.
There is a fee only for cathode ray tube (CRT) televisions ($20) and CRT computer monitors ($15). All other screen and monitor drop-offs are free. Cash must be exact change. Checks should be made payable to “Arlington County Treasurer.”
Before coming to E-CARE, talk to your neighbors. Combine items and save trips to the collection site. For Arlington residents only, so bring ID.
Household hazardous materials (HHM) drop-off is available year-round (by appointment only, except on Saturdays) at the County's HHM Facility at 565 31st St. S., in the surface lot across from the Water Pollution Control Plant.
