Volunteer Requirements

• Be age 18 or older
• Be able to attend a mandatory New Volunteer Orientation within one year of applying.
• Be an Arlington resident or a student residing in Arlington.
• Commit to participating in quarterly call-down drills.
• Be willing to assist in an emergency.
• Be interested in staffing annual exercises and supporting ongoing community outreach and education projects.

Steps to Join

Register in the Virginia Volunteer Health System (VVHS).

Registration takes about 30 minutes. You'll create an account, enter your information, and can save your application to finish later if needed. 

Have the following ready:

• Basic contact information
• Emergency contact information
• Drivers license information
• Photo
• Certifications and professional licenses, if applicable
