To get a hotel license, submit a Hotel Permit Application(PDF, 166KB), schedule a pre-opening inspection, and pay the fee. This applies to new establishments or when ownership changes.
- Submit the Hotel Permit Application(PDF, 166KB) by email, mail, fax, or in-person to the Environmental Health Program.
- We cannot process incomplete applications.
- Additional permits may be required for on-site restaurants, continental breakfasts, pools, or spas.
- Pay the $40 processing fee:
- Check or money order: Submit by mail or in person. Make payable to Treasurer, Arlington County and include the hotel name in the memo line.
- Credit card: Pay over the phone or in person.
- Cash: Pay in person at the Environmental Health Program.
