All required permit applications and supporting documents must be submitted to the Office of the Fire Marshal before any work or activity begins. Permit applications should be emailed to FirePermits@arlingtonva.us. If a permit fee is required, payment instructions will be provided after your application has been reviewed and processed.

*A Flammable/Combustible Liquid Tank Permit is required for the removal or abandonment of a flammable or combustible liquid tank. If any piping connected to the tank will be disconnected or altered, a Mechanical Permit from the Inspection Services Division may also be required. Inspection Services can be reached at 703-228-3800.

After your permit application is submitted and processed, an invoice will be emailed to you from ACFDInspections@arlingtonva.us. Please check your spam or junk folder if you do not receive it. Invoices may be paid online using any of the available payment options, including e-check, debit card, credit card, PayPal, Venmo, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. Payment instructions will be included with your invoice, or you may click the Pay Now button below. Please have your invoice available when submitting payment. Once payment is received, the Office of the Fire Marshal will contact you to schedule any required inspection(s) and finalize your permit.
