Masked/Unmasked: An Expressive Arts Workshop

Sharmila-Workshop-2.jpg

Artist Sharmila Karamchandani noticed how the word mask has now become ubiquitous with a medical mask, something that keeps us safe from germs. But the evolution of masks has such a fascinating history that has somehow lost its charm due to the overuse of medical masks. Prior to the pandemic, Masks were used in many cultures for a variety of reasons, some being ritualistic, some for protection, some for decorative purposes, for theater, and so on. In this workshop, let’s get back to that full-face mask. Through creative play and all materials provided let’s express who we are in our own ways.
