Help celebrate Inner Ear Studios & DC’s music legacy!

Contribute your classic DC show flyers and Inner Ear photos to a new outdoor public installation commemorating the artists and music recorded at the iconic Inner Ear Studios. This outdoor installation in Arlington will highlight DC’s music history and community through a semi-permanent, evolving wheatpaste installation of DC show flyers, photos, and reproductions of Inner Ear-related ephemera.

What we're looking for:

  • DC show flyers featuring bands that recorded at Inner Ear (album release show flyers a plus!)
  • Your photos of Inner Ear studio (Did you record or mix there? Send us your images!)
  • Ephemera from recording sessions at Inner Ear (track lists, mix notes, doodles, etc)

This outdoor wheatpasted installation will use primarily black and white reproductions, and some color images may be converted to B&W.

2700 S Nelson Project

The 2700 South Nelson Project will replace the two buildings acquired by Arlington County at 2700 South Nelson Street and 2701 South Oakland Street with a temporary flexible outdoor arts and maker space.The County has partnered with public art and placemaking consultants Graham Projects, who is joining community conversations to help develop and implement a vision for the site.

Arlington Arts

Arlington Cultural Affairs, a division of Arlington Economic Development, delivers public activities and programs as Arlington Arts. Our mission is to create, support, and promote the arts, connecting artists and community to reflect the diversity of Arlington. We do this by: providing material support to artists and arts organizations in the form of grants, facilities and theater technology; integrating award-winning public art into our built environment; and presenting high quality performing, literary, visual and new media programs across the County.

Graham Projects

Graham Projects is a Baltimore-based design-build studio making cities more inclusive and livable through public art, placemaking, and civic engagement. Building on our backgrounds in public art, planning, and advocacy, Public Artist and Founding Principal Graham Coreil-Allen (he/him) and the Graham Projects team produce participatory projects and lead social initiatives in the service of pedestrians and places. Some call it creative placemaking, others tactical urbanism. We call it public art for the common good.
