Stay and Play Programs

General Information

Come explore Arlington’s Stay and Play program for toddlers. This model offers 90 minutes of play in our toddler-friendly rooms for children ages 12-36 months and their caregivers. The program is designed to expose toddlers to their first social group experience outside of the home. Our Parks and Recreation staff will provide a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for toddlers to explore new toys and make new friends. Caregivers will stay during the program to supervise their children and create bonds with other families in the community. Staff may provide organized activities such as story times, crafts, sensory and movement experiences. Registration is required. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying siblings must be registered and meet age requirements to attend this program.

Stay and Play Program hours are 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.

Stay and Play Programs are offered at 3 convenient Arlington locations:

• Langston Brown Community Center
• Madison Community Center (temporarily relocated to Dawson Terrace beginning June 1, 2026)
• Fairlington Community Center

Registration

• Register here.  You’ll need your WebTrac login information, program number and credit card (we accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover). A 3% fee is charged by our credit card processor. Customers using credit cards pay the convenience fee directly to the credit card processor. Arlington County does not receive any portion of the fee. Learn how to avoid the fee.
• Search by Activity type and choose "Preschool/Playgroup" from the options. 
• If you don’t have an account with us, create one at registration.arlingtonva.us/. Click “Create Account” in the Login/Register box in the top left corner.
• Registration opens at 10 a.m.

Tuition

• Payment due at time of registration. No proration offered for classes that have already occurred.
• Tuition is for a 12-week session.
• Tuition may vary depending on holidays and breaks. 

Access for All

Stay and Play Programs, like more Park & Recreation programs and classes, are at a price you can afford! Our fee reduction program helps Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day! Access for All. Whether you have a short-term set back or something longer term.

Cancellations

• The program fees are not based on attendance.
• All cancellations must be made in writing to the Administrative Services office two weeks prior to the last day and are subject to a $20 administrative fee per session.
• Cancellations can be made at prekbilling@arlingtonva.us.  The cost per day will be divided based on the number of days of service.
• Please note that all cancellations are processed by Administrative Services staff only, not through program staff.
