Brycer TCE Fire Protection System Reporting

The Arlington County Office of the Fire Marshal uses Brycer's The Compliance Engine (TCE) to manage electronic submission and tracking of fire protection system inspection, testing, and maintenance reports. TCE is a secure online platform that allows qualified contractors to submit required reports directly to the Office of the Fire Marshal.

The Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code requires fire protection systems to be maintained, inspected, tested, and serviced at required intervals. Property owners are responsible for ensuring these systems are properly maintained and inspected by qualified contractors.

Fire protection systems subject to inspection and reporting requirements may include:

  • Fire alarm systems
  • Automatic sprinkler systems
  • Fire pumps
  • Standpipe systems
  • Kitchen hood suppression systems
  • Clean agent suppression systems
  • Private fire hydrants
  • Emergency and exit lighting systems
  • Other fire and life safety systems as required by code

Property Owner Responsibilities

Property owners and managers must ensure required inspections, testing, and maintenance are completed in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Any deficiencies identified during inspections should be corrected promptly.

Brycer TCE does not replace the property owner's responsibility to maintain fire protection systems. It simply provides a streamlined process for submitting reports and documenting compliance.

Contractor Responsibilities

Contractors performing inspections, testing, maintenance, or repairs on fire protection systems in Arlington County must submit completed reports through Brycer TCE after each service visit.

Timely report submission helps maintain accurate compliance records and allows the Office of the Fire Marshal to monitor system performance and address unresolved deficiencies.
