About Continuing Care Retirement Communities

Continuing-Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) are facilities that include independent living, assisted living, and nursing-level care in one location. The benefit of a CCRC is that the older adult can remain in the same setting, even if their care needs increase. It also allows spouses to remain close even if one requires a higher level of care.

Arlington does not have a traditional CCRC.

Nursing facilities are licensed by the Virginia Department of Health and are inspected for state licensure. Visit the VDH website.
