NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF ARLINGTON CO., VA, on November 4, 2024, at 2100 Clarendon Boulevard, Suite 307, Arlington, Virginia 22201 in a meeting at 7:00 P.M. or as soon thereafter as matters may be heard, will consider the following cases, after offering the public an opportunity to be heard in a public hearing. The public may attend the meeting in person or virtually. SUBJECT: Ordinance to amend, reenact, and recodify Chapter 46 (Arlington County Employees’ Supplemental Retirement System—II, “ACERS”)  of the Code of Arlington County, Virginia to:

  1. Amend Article VI, Section 32 and Article VIII, Section 38 to provide a 1% multiplier benefit formula and a 2.5% required employee contribution for non-uniformed employees who are not part of a bargaining unit, hired after January 11, 2025.
  2. Amend Article IV, Section 27 and Article V, Section 31 to delete the option for newly hired employees in the Management Accountability Program to opt out of the ACERS pension plan and allow the six employees who are currently not participating in ACERS into the proposed new plan provisions, effective January 12, 2025. 
  3. Amend Article VIII, Sections 43 and 52 to correct amendments made in May 2023 that were agreed to during negotiations for the current contract between Arlington County Government and the Arlington Professional Firefighters and Paramedics Assoc., IAFF Local 2800.
