About CSW

• CSW empowers women in Arlington and advocates for their social and economic interests. This includes addressing: Violence against women (sexual and domestic and street harassment)
• Women’s health and access to health care
• Awareness and prevention of gender discrimination
• Economic and employment opportunities
• Housing and transportation
• Care-giving (place-based living and childcare)
• Education
• Legal and human rights
• State legislation (for example, increasing penalties for stalking with a weapon; reducing state sales tax on food; and supporting victim participation and plea agreements)

In addition to advocacy, CSW holds educational workshops, public forums and cooperative efforts with the County Board and other women’s organizations.
