MEDIA ADVISORY: Columbia Pike Multimodal Project Ribbon Cutting
Published on April 14, 2026
The public and media are invited to join Arlington County staff for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the improvements of the Columbia Pike Multimodal Improvements. The event will take place at Penrose Square.
The project delivers approximately three miles of multimodal safety and access improvements to transform Columbia Pike into a welcoming main street corridor. The changes, concentrated between the County line on the west and S Oak Street on the east, include sidewalk improvements, foundations for future transit improvements, and utility and landscaping upgrades to further solidify Columbia Pike as a cultural and community destination.
