REPORTS

ROBBERY, 2026-09210204, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 7:08 p.m. on September 21, police were dispatched to the report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, collected merchandise and allegedly exited the store without payment. When confronted by an employee in the 1300 block of S. Joyce Street, the suspect physically assaulted the employee until police arrived and subsequently took the suspect into custody. The employee sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. During a search incident to arrest of the suspect, suspected narcotics were recovered. Omar Jabbar, 29, of Capitol Heights, MD, was arrested and charged with Robbery and Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance.
