REPORTS
BURGLARY, 2026-08290154, 2200 block of Arlington Boulevard. At approximately 7:28 p.m. on August 29, police were dispatched to the report of destruction of property. Upon arrival, it was determined that one adult male suspect and several juvenile male suspects forced entry into the vacant business and into multiple rooms, causing property damage. The suspects subsequently fled the scene. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers located individuals matching the descriptions of the juvenile suspects in the area of Washington Boulevard, beneath the Arlington Boulevard bridge, and took them into custody following foot pursuits. The adult suspect was located near the scene and taken into custody. Edenilson Bladim Mejia Santos, 20, of Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with Burglary, Destruction of Property, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (x3). Petitions for three juvenile male suspects were obtained for Burglary, Destruction of Property and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
ROBBERY, 2026-08290117, 300 block of S. Glebe Road. At approximately 3:51 p.m. on August 29, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny. Upon arrival, it was determined the female suspect and an employee were involved in a verbal dispute at the business. The suspect then made threatening statements before fleeing the scene without paying for services. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and a warrant for Robbery was obtained.
CARJACKING, 2026-08310147, 2100 block of 19th Street N. At approximately 4:56 p.m. on August 31, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was walking in the area when the suspect approached her from behind and attempted to engage her in conversation. The victim walked towards her vehicle and the suspect followed, made a threatening statement and demanded her keys. The suspect then stole the victim’s keys and wallet before entering her vehicle and fleeing the scene. The victim’s vehicle is described as a Volkswagen Tiguan with Virginia plates. Officers canvassed the area for the suspect with negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male in his late 20's wearing a white tank top. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY (late), 2026-08310180, 1000 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 7:52 p.m. on August 31, police were dispatched to the late report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 7:15 p.m., the male suspect attempted to exit a business without paying for merchandise when he was confronted by an employee. The suspect pepper sprayed the employee before fleeing the scene on foot with the stolen merchandise. The employee did not require medical treatment. The suspect is described as a Black male in his mid-20s with an average build and wearing a baseball hat, white shirt, jeans and carrying a backpack. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2026-08290068, 400 block of 11th Street S. At approximately 11:17 a.m. on August 29, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. It was determined that at approximately 3:48 a.m., the suspect forced entry into the business, stole audio equipment, an undisclosed amount of cash and subsequently fled the scene. The investigation into the circumstances of this incident is ongoing.
