REPORTS
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2026-05040237, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 8:32 p.m. on May 4, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, concealed merchandise and exited the store without payment. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers located the suspect near the scene and issued commands which the suspect ignored. As officers were taking the suspect into custody, the suspect resisted arrest and struck an officer. The suspect was subsequently taken into the custody with the assistance of additional responding officers. The officer sustained minor injuries. During the course of the investigation, the suspect provided false identifying information to officers and during a search incident to arrest, suspected narcotics and burglarious tools were recovered. During a secondary search of the suspect in booking, additional suspected narcotics were recovered. Victor Lopez Pastilla, 24, of Fort Washington, Md., was arrested and charged with Assault on Police, Obstruction of Justice, Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance, Identity Theft, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Delivery of Drugs to Prisoners and Shoplifting. He was held without bond.
ROBBERY (late), 2026-05050113, 1100 block of N. Barton Street. At approximately 11:39 a.m. on May 5, police responded to the police station for the late report of a robbery. It was determined at approximately 7:00 p.m. on May 4, the juvenile male victim in his teens was outside when the two juvenile male suspects, who are also in their teens and known to him, approached him and made threatening statements. The suspects then assaulted the victim and stole his keychain before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. Petitions were sought for the suspects for Robbery.
