REPORTS
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2026-05210226, 500 block of 15th Street S. At approximately 7:05 p.m. on May 21, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect was allegedly removing items from the balcony of a residential building. Responding officers located the suspect at the scene and took him into custody without incident. During the course of the investigation, credit cards, mail and personal items not belonging to the suspect were recovered. Howard Campbell, 39, of Washington, DC, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry, Petit Larceny, Mail Theft and Credit Card Theft.
BURGLARY (Late), 2026-05210234, 1000 block of S. Frederick Street. At approximately 7:24 p.m. On May 21, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. It was determined that on May 15 at approximately 10:20 p.m. and on May 16 at approximately 4:34 a.m., the male suspect, who is known to the victim, attempted to make entry into the victim’s secured residence and subsequently fled the scene when he was unsuccessful. Six months prior to this incident, the suspect was observed entering the victim's unoccupied, unlocked vehicle without their permission. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and Juan Pablo Covarrubias Beltran, 36, of Arlington, VA., was arrested and charged with Burglary, Attempted Burglary (x2), Entering a Vehicle, and Larceny from Auto.
