REPORTS

ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2026-03020129, 5100 block of 10th Street S. At approximately 5:12 p.m. on March 2, an officer was responding to an unrelated call for service in the area when they were flagged down by a witness in a residential building. The officer subsequently made contact with the male suspect inside the building and it was determined he allegedly broke several of the building’s windows. The suspect was taken into custody and was treated and released by medics on scene for minor injuries. While in custody, the suspect became irate and kicked an officer several times. The officer did not report any injuries. Roberto Sales Hernandez, 29, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Assault on Police and Destruction of Property. He was held without bond.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2026-03020069, 3200 block of 24th Street S. At approximately 10:45 a.m. on March 2, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim returned to his residence and observed damage to the door consistent with forced entry and called police. Responding officers observed several subjects exit the apartment and subsequently run from the scene. Following a foot pursuit, officers detained one juvenile male suspect who was wearing a face mask in the area of Drew Elementary School. During the course of the investigation, distribution amounts of suspected narcotics and evidence of the sale of narcotics were covered. The suspect also provided officers with false personal identification information while in custody. Petitions for the juvenile suspect were obtained for Unlawful Entry, Obstruction of Justice, Possession with Intent to Distribute Controlled Substance, Selling Drugs On/Near School Property, Giving False Identity to Law Enforcement and Wearing a Mask in a Public Place.
