REPORTS
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2026-03260181/2026-03260212, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 6:15 p.m. on March 26, an officer conducting extra checks in the area was alerted by security personnel of a larceny that had just occurred. The preliminary investigation indicates Suspect One, a juvenile male in his teens, allegedly entered a business, collected merchandise and exited without payment. The officer observed Suspect One fleeing the scene and gave him commands to stop which the suspect disregarded. The officer was able to catch up to the suspect and as he was detaining him, Suspect Two, a juvenile male in his teens, and Suspect Three, a juvenile female in her teens, approached and assaulted the officer. With the assistance of additional responding officers and security personnel, the three juvenile suspects were taken into custody. The officer sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. Petitions for Suspect One were obtained for Shoplifting and Obstruction of Justice. Petitions for Suspects Two and Three were obtained for Assault on Police and Obstruction of Justice.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2026-03260230, 1100 block of S. Quincy Street. At approximately 11:22 p.m. on March 26, police were dispatched to the report of an unlawful entry. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect allegedly made entry into the secured laundry room. Responding officers located the suspect at the scene and detained him without incident. Jason Yanes Martinez, 28, of Alexandria, VA, was arrested, and charged with Unlawful Entry and Public Intoxication.
