REPORTS
MALICIOUS WOUNDING (Late), 2026-06050180, 2300 block of 24th Road S. At approximately 5:42 p.m. on June 5, police responded to the police station for the late report of an assault. It was reported that at approximately 5:00 p.m., the victim and suspect, who are known to each other, were involved in a dispute in the 2300 block of 24th Road S. when the suspect displayed a knife and allegedly struck the victim, resulting in the victim sustaining lacerations. The victim left the area and went to the police station for assistance. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified and responding officers took him into custody. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. Once cleared, Mehmet Yatagan, 36, of Arlington, VA., was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond.
ROBBERY, 2026-06050222, 1100 block of N. Highland Street. At approximately 8:43 p.m. on June 5, police were dispatched to the report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, collected merchandise in a cart and allegedly exited the store with the stolen items without payment. When confronted by an employee, the suspect struck the employee before subsequently fleeing the scene on foot. A lookout was broadcast, and a responding officer located an individual matching the description on the suspect in the area of the Clarendon Metro Station and attempted to take him into custody. The suspect ignored commands and attempted to strike the officer several times. Following a struggle, the suspect was taken into custody following the arrival of additional officers. James McGill, 60, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Robbery, Obstruction of Justice (x2) and Public Intoxication. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY, 2026-06060229, 4600 block of 15th Street N. At approximately 10:00 p.m. On June 6, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect allegedly made entry into the victims' residence and subsequently fled the scene on foot when the victims confronted him. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect nearby and took him into custody following a struggle. Zachary Hattab, 25, of Arlington, VA., was arrested and charged with Burglary, Obstruction of Justice and Public Intoxication.
BURGLARY(Late), 2026-06050152, 5900 block of 2nd Street N. At approximately 3:40 p.m. On June 5, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. It was reported that on May 26, the unknown suspect(s) made entry into the victim's residence, stole personal items and subsequently fled the scene. There are no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2026-06050120, 5100 block of Langston Boulevard. At approximately 2:01 p.m. on June 5, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined five suspects forced entry into the secured business by breaking a glass window. Once inside the business, the suspects caused property damage to display cases and concealed jewelry. Suspect One made threatening statements while brandishing what appeared to be a firearm. Suspect Two also displayed what appeared to be a firearm. All suspects fled the scene with the stolen merchandise in a vehicle that is described as a black sedan. No injuries were reported. The suspects are described as five Black males wearing dark clothing and face coverings. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (Late), 2026-06070087, 4900 block of 14th Street S. At approximately 11:52 a.m. On June 7, police were dispatched to the late report of a larceny. It was determined the suspect(s) made entry into the victim's residence, stole and undisclosed amount of cash and subsequently fled the scene. There are no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (Late), 2026-06030075, 5900 block of 2nd Street N. On June 3, police received an online report for a late burglary. It was reported that on May 26 between 12:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. the suspect(s) forced entry into the victim’s secured residence, stole jewelry and personal items and subsequently fled the scene. There are no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
