REPORTS

BRANDISHING, 2026-06180222, 2300 block of 26th Court S. At approximately 4:51 p.m. on June 18, police were dispatched to the report of a trespasser. The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect was knocking on multiple doors in an apartment complex. Employees of the complex made contact with the suspect and advised him to leave the property during which he allegedly reached into his bag. The employees contacted police and upon arrival, a responding officer observed an individual matching the description of the suspect running from the area. The officer gave the suspect commands to stop which he ignored and continued running. With the assistance of an off-duty law enforcement officer, the suspect was taken into custody. During a search of the suspect’s bag, a firearm was recovered. Kevin Mendoza Flores, 25, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Brandishing, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Firearm by Foreign Alien, Trespassing and Obstruction of Justice. 

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (Series) (Late), 2026-06230013/ 2026-06230023, 5000 block of 7th Road S. At approximately 1:51 a.m. on June 23, police were dispatched to the late report of destruction of property. During the course of the investigation, officers located 14 vehicles with their driver’s side windows broken. The victim vehicles vary in make and model. There are no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing. 

MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY MOB (Late), 2026-06220080, 3500 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 12:09 p.m. on June 22, officers responded to the police station for the late report of an assault. It was reported that on June 19, the juvenile male victim was sitting in the area of the 3200 block of 24th Street S. when he was approached by 15-20 juvenile males who surrounded him and began making threatening statements. The victim ran away from the group, who followed him and subsequently physically assaulted him, and stole articles of his clothing before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and self-reported to an area hospital for treatment. One suspect is described as a juvenile Black male with a thin build, approximately 5'10" tall. There are no other suspect descriptions. The investigation into the circumstances of this incident is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2026-06190190, Columbia Pike at S. Queen Street. At approximately 6:44 p.m. on June 19, police were dispatched to the report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined the adult male was walking in the area when he was approached by two juvenile male suspects who pushed him and attempted to steal his bag. The suspects fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. The suspects are described as juvenile Black males in their teens. Suspect One was wearing a gray sweatshirt and Suspect Two was wearing a green sweatshirt. The investigation is ongoing. 

ROBBERY, 2026-06190226, 1000 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 8:57 p.m. On June 19, an officer working a crime prevention detail was flagged down by the victim who reported a robbery. It was reported that the juvenile male victim was inside the business when he was approached by a group of five juvenile male suspects, who were known to him. The victim attempted to run away from the suspects, who followed him and stole articles of his clothing before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. The suspects are described as juvenile Black males wearing all black. The investigation is ongoing.
