REPORTS
ROBBERY, 2026-06010137, 3000 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 12:19 p.m. on June 1, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the store and allegedly concealed merchandise and an employee confronted him. A verbal dispute ensued that escalated to a physical altercation during which the suspect assaulted the employee, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect continued assaulting the employee before exiting the business and fleeing the scene on foot. The employee sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. A lookout was broadcast and a responding officer located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area of 10th Street N. and N. Irving Street and took him into custody. Jerrell Smith, 34, of Alexandria, Va. was arrested and charged with Robbery and Malicious Wounding. He was held on no bond.
