REPORTS
SEXUAL BATTERY, 2026-07070101, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 11:02 a.m. on July 7, police were dispatched to the report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined the juvenile female victim in her teens was inside a business when the male suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks before fleeing the scene. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male with shoulder length dreadlocks and facial hair wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2026-07070231, 1800 block of N. Moore Street. At approximately 9:54 p.m. on July 7, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim and male suspect were inside a business when the suspect stole the victim’s cellphone. The victim confronted the suspect, who then displayed what appeared to be a knife before returning the victim’s cellphone and fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing all black clothing and red shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
GRAND LARCENY AUTO (Late) (Series), 2026-07070039, 700 block of S. Courthouse Road. At approximately 6:56 a.m. on July 7, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny. It was determined between approximately 6:00 p.m. on July 6 and 6:56 a.m. on July 7, the unknown suspect(s) stole two vehicles from the residential parking lot and fled the scene. There are no suspect description(s). The first stolen vehicle is described as a red 2023 Acura Integra with Virginia license plate SZZ8526. The second stolen vehicle is described as a white 2019 Infiniti Q50 with Virginia license plate SVX8922. The investigation is ongoing.
