REPORTS

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE (Significant), 2026-07250158, N. Utah Street at I-66. At approximately 3:40 p.m. on July 25, a patrol officer observed an unoccupied suspicious vehicle parked on a bridge overtop I-66 and initiated an investigation. As a precaution during the investigation, road closures were put in place to restrict movement near the vehicle. Members of the Arlington County Fire Department’s Bomb Squad responded to the scene, determined there was no credible threat and cleared the vehicle. The road closures were subsequently lifted.

SHOTS FIRED, 2026-07250227, 1400 block of 28th Street S. At approximately 9:56 p.m. on July 25, police were dispatched to the report of shots heard. Upon arrival, officers recovered evidence confirming shots had been fired and conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect, yielding negative results. No injuries or property damage were reported. The preliminary investigation indicates a dispute between a group playing basketball preceded the shooting. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY MOB, 2026-07240219, 1600 block of S. Joyce Street. At approximately 5:51 p.m. on July 24, police were dispatched to the report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was walking in the area when three to four juvenile male suspects riding e-scooters approached him and began to harass him. The suspects then allegedly assaulted the victim. The victim attempted to run from the assault and the physical altercation moved to the inside of a residential building before the suspect fled the scene. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers canvassed the area for the suspects yielding negative results. A short time later, officers observed two individuals matching the description of two of the suspects in the area of the 3200 block of 24th Street S. and took them into custody. Petitions for the two juvenile male suspects in their teens for Malicious Wounding by Mob were obtained. The remaining one to two suspects were not located and are described as juvenile Black males in their teens. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY (late), 2026-07250062, 1300 block of N. Meade Street. At approximately 6:18 a.m. on July 25, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. It was determined between approximately 1:30 a.m. and 6:15 a.m., the suspect(s) made entry into the victim’s occupied residence, rummaged through the interior and fled the scene. No items were reported missing. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY (late), 2026-07250068, 2000 block of 20th Road N. At approximately 7:47 a.m. on July 25, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. It was determined between approximately 6:00 p.m. on July 24 and 7:15 a.m. on July 25, the suspect made entry into the victim’s occupied residence, rummaged through the interior and fled the scene. No items were reported missing. The suspect is described as an unknown race male wearing all dark clothing. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY (late), 2026-07250118, 2200 block of N. Rolfe Street. At approximately 11:40 a.m. on July 25, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. It was determined between approximately 9:00 p.m. on July 24 and 7:00 a.m. on July 25, the male suspect made entry into the victim’s occupied residence and parked unoccupied vehicle, stole a wallet and keys, and fled the scene. The suspect is described as an unknown race male in his 20’s wearing a red shirt, dark shorts and white shoes. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY (late), 2026-07260037, 6300 block of 19th Street N. At approximately 3:04 a.m. on July 26, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. It was determined between 8:00 a.m. on July 25 and 3:00 a.m. on July 26, the suspect(s) made entry into the victim’s unoccupied residence, rummaged through the interior and fled the scene. No items were reported missing. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY (late), 2026-07260060, 2100 block of N. Rolfe Street. On July 25, police were in the area for a separate call for service when they observed signs of a possible attempted burglary at a neighboring unoccupied residence. Officers returned to the scene on July 26 for further investigation and it was determined between approximately 12:00 p.m. on July 24 and 8:51 a.m. on July 26, the suspect(s) attempted to gain entry into the victim’s unoccupied residence and fled the scene. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY (late), 2026-07250128, 1600 block of 21st Street N. At approximately 1:00 p.m. on July 25, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. It was determined at approximately 11:00 a.m., the suspect made entry into the victim’s occupied residence and subsequently fled the scene. No items were reported missing. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
