REPORTS
ROBBERY, 2026-08080099, 2800 block of S. Quincy Street. At approximately 1:15 p.m. on August 8, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect allegedly entered the business and entered a secured back room and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from an employee handling cash before fleeing the scene on foot. During the course of the investigation, officers observed an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area and took him into custody. Tyrone Cooper, 40, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Robbery. He was held without bond.
SHOTS FIRED (late), 2026-08080074, 2400 block of Shirlington Boulevard. At approximately 9:59 a.m. on August 8, police were dispatched to the late report of a shooting. It was determined at approximately 3:30 a.m., the male suspect discharged a firearm outside a residential building before fleeing the scene. A witness reported the incident just before 10:00 a.m. and responding officers recovered evidence confirming shots had been fired in the area. No injuries or property damage were reported. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing all black clothing. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2026-08090104, 400 block of 11th Street S. At approximately 2:10 p.m. in August 9, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. It was determined at approximately 4:17 a.m., the male suspect forced entry into the closed business, stole an undisclosed amount of cash from a register and electronics and fled the scene. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY (late), 2026-08070065, 1900 block of Key Boulevard. At approximately 8:49 a.m. on August 7, police were dispatched to the late report of a suspicious circumstances. It was determined between 12:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., the suspect(s) attempted to force entry into the victim’s occupied residence before fleeing the scene. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED UNLAWFUL ENTRY (late), 2026-08070112, 200 block of 20th Street S. At approximately 11:47 a.m. on August 7, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. It was determined at approximately 6:00 a.m., the female victim was inside her residence when she heard a knock at her door. Upon further investigation, she observed three male suspects attempting to make entry into her home before fleeing the scene. The suspects are described as Black males who are approximately 18-20 years old. The investigation is ongoing.
